However, much like you may not want to risk buying spare refrigeration parts from this website to fix it yourself, there are certain things that are, frankly, best left to the pros.
Getting the work from a salon is one of life’s little luxuries. You come out feeling like a new person...but you will also encounter the feeling of lighter packets as you leave.
The pandemic has taught us that we can do a lot of things at home to stay looking and feeling good. However, there are some things that we should wait for salons to reopen before getting done.
Here are some of them.
Hair
Your hair can really alter how you look. With a good style, there’s no end of possibilities.
DO: Hair masks - you can buy pretty decent quality hair masks at a reasonable cost even when you’re picking up bananas at the store. You might even consider buying the stuff to make your own with naturally nourishing ingredients such as bananas, oats, avocados, coconut oils, etc.
DO NOT: Dye your own hair. Box dye kits may save you money rather than going to the salon--even if you go to a professional beauty supplier, but they do not give the same results as letting a pro loose on your locks. Going solo on this task can result in unflattering colors that are poorly applied and leave your hair more damaged than lush. It’s worth spending the money.
Hair Removal:
If you’re going to look after the hair on your head, you might be into removing hair from other parts of your body.
DO: Take the time to prepare your skin for hair removal. That means taking the time to exfoliate to get rid of dead skin. This is especially important if you choose to shave as part of your hair removal method. The more dead skin you get rid of pre-shave, the longer your razor will last as you limit the amount of gross dead skin left in the razor.
DO NOT: Although it is possible to DIY, it’s not recommended if you don’t have access to the right formula. Waxing. Salons will use the best quality wax which will minimize pain and discomfort. It also gives you that extra pair of eyes to make sure that no spots are missed in the process.
Skin Care:
DO: Get yourself into a good daily routine. Buy yourself a decent cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that is compatible with your skin type. Make sure to remove any makeup properly.
DO NOT: Buy salon equipment to use at home. In spite of the availability of technologies that enable the average human to attempt at home, misuse of these items can result in permanent damage to the skin. Salon workers have extensive training to become specialized in this area - leave this one to them.
There are plenty of ways you can make yourself feel beautiful at home, but some...you should just leave to the pros!
